If you are privately insured:

In most cases the private health insurance companies assume the costs for outpatient psychotherapy at private practices. There are however exceptions and some plans may exclude psychotherapy or limit the number of sessions per year. You should therefore always clarify the costs in advance. For clarification it is often sufficient to simply call and speak with your health insurance provider.

Below are some questions to help you clarify payment with your private health insurance provider:

  1. Is psychotherapy included in the scope of my health insurance? (If so: what is the number of accepted therapy periods, costs, are there other restrictions?)
  2. What if any special documents are required for the application of psychotherapy?
(Special forms or applications to be filled out by the psychotherapist)?
